Ideas Take Away

Advantages and disadvantages script driven game development from an engineer and a game designer point of view.

Game play of "Time Crisis" franchise was done by game designers using our Namco original script language. In our latest rail shooting title "Dead Storm Pirates", we replaced our original script language with open script languages, “Xtal” and “Game Monkey Script”. Game designers worked on the game play while engineers developed runtime engine and frameworkto support the game designers. At this session, we will show how we used these languages for rail shooting.
